Peas

Peas are a valuable ingredient because they contain twice the protein of most vegetables. They are good sources of vitamin A, vitamin C, and some B-complex vitamins— thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin. Peas are also good sources of calcium, iron, phosphorus, and potassium. The insoluble fiber present helps intestinal mobility.

Steam Rolled Oats

Our very first ingredient is steamed rolled oats (oatmeal). It is a premium, high quality grain that is easy for your mini-pig to digest. High in Lysine. Lysine content is important because swine, like most simple-stomached (non-ruminant) animals, do not require protein per se, but instead require specific levels of certain compounds that make up protein.

Wheat

Wheat is an excellent source of crude protein and essential amino acids, including lysine and tryptophan, which play crucial roles in facilitating digestion and optimizing energy utilization within the body. Its nutritional profile not only supports overall health but also contributes to sustained energy levels and efficient nutrient absorption.

Alfalfa

Our Oregon-grown Alfalfa improves nutritional efficiency and provides an excellent source of high- quality dietary fiber. (As we all know, fiber helps prevent constipation). Alfalfa for pigs also helps reduce ulcers and creates a leaner, more favorable conformation. Our alfalfa has high mineral content: iron, selenium and nonphytate phosphoroous to reduce nitrogen output.

Pumpkin

It is one of the very low-calorie vegetables. 100 g fruit provides just 26 calories and contains no saturated fats or cholesterol; however, it is rich in dietary fiber, anti-oxidants, minerals, vitamins. The vegetable is one of the food items recommended by dieticians in cholesterol controlling and weight reduction programs. It is also a rich source of minerals like copper, calcium, potassium and phosphorus.

 

Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds indeed are an excellent source of dietary fibre and mono-unsaturated fatty acids, which are good for heart health. Also, the seeds are concentrated sources of protein, minerals, and health-benefiting vitamins. For instance, 100 g of pumpkin seeds provide 559 calories, 30 g of protein, 110% RDA of iron, 4987 mg of niacin (31% RDA), selenium (17% of RDA), zinc (71%), etc., but zero cholesterol.

Camelina Oil

Antioxidant – Camelina oil is a strong antioxidant because of the high Vitamin E content. Emollient – It moisturizes the skin. Anti-Inflammatory – It strongly inhibits inflammation both topically and when used internally. Anti-arthritic – Because of its high omega – 3 content, it can be used to alleviate pain in arthritis. Hair and skin– Helps with dry skin and soft hair Immune booster – Because of the high Vitamin E content, it boosts the immune system.

Guaranteed Analysis

The guaranteed analysis of these food ingredients highlights their nutritional content: 16.0% minimum crude protein for muscle development, 5.0% minimum crude fat for energy, and a maximum of 5.0% crude fiber for digestive health. Calcium levels range from 0.9% minimum to 1.0% maximum, supporting bone health alongside 0.6% phosphorus. Salt content varies between 0.01% minimum and 0.02% maximum to maintain electrolyte balance. Essential nutrients include a minimum of 0.75% lysine, selenium at 3 ppm, zinc at 770 ppm, and vitamins D (1492 IU/lb), A (5970 IU/lb), and E (112 IU/lb) for overall well-being.
 

Feeding Instructions

  • For growing babies and for maintenance of more active adult animals(up to 1 1/2 years of age) regulate feed to a level which maintains IDEAL body condition without putting on excess fat (recommend 1-1.5% of IDEAL body wt.)

  • For maintenance of more active, young adult animals (up to 1 ½ years of age), regulate feed to a level which maintains IDEAL body Condition without putting on excess fat. (Recommend around 1-1.5% of body wt.)

  • For maintenance of medium to low active adults, regulate feed to a level which maintains IDEAL body condition with-out putting on excess fat. (recommend .5-1% of ideal body wt.)

  • In addition- as part of the diet, moderate amount chopped vegetables daily can be added. Limit fruit intake as it will cause weight gain and blood sugar spikes. Always have fresh water available.

  • Adjust the feed amount based on your pig’s appearance and TOTAL calorie intake. ALL adjustments need to be made small and gradual.

  • Each pig has its own dietary needs, metabolisms vary from pig to pig. The level of feed intake a pig needs depends on many factors some of which include: age, activity level, environmental temperatures, other foods your pig is eating, physical body condition.

Vitamin E Supplement – Powerful antioxidant which helps prevent cancer, heart disease, and cell damage. Can also reduce blood pressure and promotes a healthy coat.

Yucca – Reduces ammonia in the urine. Zinc Oxide – Helps in the absorption of minerals and nutrients, and overall digestive health.

Sodium Selenite – An essential element for normal cell function.

Calcium and Phosphorous – Two elements are important in skeletal structure development, but their presence in soft tissues is also vitally important. Both aid in blood clotting, muscle contraction, and energy metabolism. About 99 percent of the calcium and 80 percent of the phosphorus in the body are found in the skeleton and teeth. Therefore, deficiency of calcium and phosphorus will result in impaired bone mineralization, reduced bone strength, and poor growth.
